Last year Milwaukee area artist Brock Rumohr working with visitors created a centerpiece sculpture that has become iconic on the tour, a 18 foot high woven vessel made from local lathe, and diamond willow. This year with your help Brock is going to create a living sculpture out of standing poplar trees, lathe, vine and string. This plans to be a long standing structure that visitors to Mill Creek Pottery will be able to walk inside and experience. Please come and join the fun. |

Last year we had a huge response to our pottery tours. Visitors enjoyed seeing the three wood kilns and learning the process. Folks asked great questions and left Mill Creek pottery understanding the force and nature of wood firing. Seeing the tools and equipment was then enhanced by seeing the potters at work. Live demos are scheduled every two hours. This year in addition to owner Simon Levin, and his apprentice Lucie Brisson's pottery we are exhibiting nationally known River Falls artist Steve Rolf and pottery by Brock Rumohr. Menominee jewelry and crafts by Paula Fernandez will be in the gallery, and music will be provided by national award winning recording artist Wade Fernandez. This year will be a celebration of quality arts in joyous high style. You won't want to miss visiting us, and you won't want to leave. |
